In recognition of International Women’s Day 2019, we are spotlighting some of the women who comprise Zscaler’s international workforce. These women were selected for their passion for their work, their contributions to their teams, and their support of the Zscaler values and vision.

We are pleased to introduce you to three of our honorees, and we are grateful that they are part of the Zscaler family.

Aleksandra VerhoeveDirector, Regional Sales, Germany

Aleksandra became interested in cybersecurity because she wanted to help counter the devastation that hackers had been unleashing on organizations. She finds the work meaningful and likes being on the side of the good guys. One aspect of her role that Aleksandra particularly appreciates is learning from customers as they share their perspectives. Recently, an IT leader at a publishing house described his organization’s use of the darknet, which shocked Aleksandra until he explained that they use it to communicate with informants. Aleksandra grew up in Croatia and today lives in Germany, where she enjoys time with friends and family and plays tennis to manage stress—after a hard day, she’s fierce on the court. Many people have influenced Aleksandra during her life, but she credits her daughter with inspiring her to be her very best. We appreciate that Aleksandra always brings her best to her team at Zscaler and to her customers.

Alice WangPrincipal Software Engineer

Alice was born to be an engineer, following in the footsteps of both of her parents and her older sisters. As a child, she remembers waking in the night to find her mother sitting on the bed reading a technical document, writing notes, and trying figure out the best approach for solving an engineering challenge. What Alice enjoys about software engineering is the satisfaction of finding a neat solution for a design, and she loves that cybersecurity interacts with almost all emerging technologies, so there’s no shortage of interesting challenges. Fun fact: When Alice was young, she believed she had a superpower that would emerge as soon as the time was right. She says it was years before she realized she was ordinary. Those of us at Zscaler who have the pleasure of knowing and working with Alice couldn’t disagree more.

Melody AtkinsEnterprise Client Executive

Melody joined Zscaler in 2015 after more than a decade in technology roles and an extended trip abroad. Upon her return, she sought a new career direction—she wanted to be part of an emerging industry that promised growth and excitement. She found the right industry, and the right company, with Zscaler. She loves the strategic aspects of her role working with customers and the dynamic nature of these relationships. Melody credits her dad, a small business owner, with instilling in her a strong worth ethic. Fun fact: Melody is a self-proclaimed Gettysburg geek with a love for the area’s history. Therefore, in the words of Lincoln, we believe it is altogether fitting and proper that we honor Melody for her contribution to Zscaler and to her community as a yoga instructor.

Congratulations, Aleksandra, Alice, and Melody!

Each day of the week leading up to International Women’s Day—March 8, 2019—Zscaler will introduce women of Zscaler whose lives, locations, and roles are diverse but who share a commitment to a world where information can be securely accessed no matter where it lives.
