About the Company
Simon Hodgkinson
Cybersecurity is as much about culture as it is about technology. We must create a culture, like safety, where everyone feels accountable for cybersecurity. It must be embedded in the business to enable the business outcomes to be delivered with appropriate, and frictionless security controls.
Simon's Transformation journey
Simon is an experienced technology leader who has worked in the software, financial services, energy sector and has been part of a financial services startup. Throughout his career, he has experienced numerous business transformations driven by technology innovation. The key to successful transformations has been the quality of the partnership between the business and the technology. Every business is a digital business and must adapt at an unprecedented pace to survive. With the growing cyber threat, it is critical that cyber is embedded in the business to enable the business outcomes to be delivered with appropriate, and frictionless security controls. By implementing a zero-trust approach, we can achieve the objective of frictionless security controls.

LESSONS LEARNED
The CISO role is to enable the business to deliver on business outcomes with appropriate risk management. This requires security teams be embedded in the businesses, involved in embryonic business ideation through the delivery lifecycle. When security teams sit in isolation and focus on best of breed security, it can be a blocker to the business and inevitably leads to friction.
