Sean's Transformation journey

Sean Cordero is a security executive, cloud security researcher, and thought leader with 22 years of experience. His expertise covers retail, financial, technology, consulting, insurance, biotech, and the solution provider space, emphasizing cloud cybersecurity. He has advised many Fortune 50 companies to securely deliver successful business outcomes by providing strategic guidance across their digital transformation journeys.
Since 2012, he has led the team to create the industry-standard control framework for cloud security, the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM). Sean's contributions to cloud security and adoption led to the CSA inducting him as an Inaugural Research Fellow in 2016.
Before joining Zscaler, Sean counseled innovative cyber-security organizations across a wide variety of initiatives, including internal security, fundraising, and navigating the C-suite. He played an integral role in the successful exit of market-leading security CI/CD automation platform, Refactr. Before that, he was the Head of Cloud Strategy at Netskope. Sean is a passionate storyteller, educator, and presenter at industry events. As a sought-after impactful speaker, he articulates real-world solutions that help organizations solve pressing business challenges. He’s been featured in leading media outlets such as Agence France-Presse, Variety, SCMagazine, CSO, Barron’s, and The Times of India. 
Sean is a certified CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CSPE, and is a founding member of Comptia’s Cyber Security Advisory Council, where he advises.
