URL filtering has become a standard control to enforce policy for web traffic. However, with Web 2.0, where dynamic and user generated content becomes the norm, static URL databases are of limited effectiveness.
Active Content = Multiple New Challenges
Active content is useful but it can be malicious. botnets and P2P pose many threats. Employees publishing inappropriate or confidential content on blogs and social networks can cause data leakage and create liability. Road warriors and smart phone users further exacerbate the problem—as their access to the Internet often bypasses all security controls.
Learn how to tackle Web 2.0 challenges in today’s tough economic environment
Security and network administrators are expected to tackle these growing problems with tighter budgets, fewer staff and a plethora of point appliances that are not helping the situation.
We are glad to bring you a keynote from Peter Firstbrook, Research Director at Gartner to cover newer challenges and defense.
