Our Mission

Most security products (such as firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS) protect corporate servers from threats coming from the Internet. Newer threats infect end users— who are accessing Internet resources—via bots, phishing, and malicious active content, all of which subsequently infect corporate networks. Corporations have done very little to inspect user-initiated traffic and protect their users. Zscaler shifts focus away from the server to the user, protecting companies from the new generation of security threats. Through our global, in-the-cloud infrastructure, Zscaler:

Web 2.0 applications, such as business networking sites and blogs, create unique opportunities—they create communities of interest for marketing or forums for customer support. However, they also create obvious challenges. Users may inadvertently download malicious content; they may create liability by publishing inappropriate or confidential content on blogs and social networks. Zscaler empowers organizations to manage access to Web 2.0 applications, while providing clean Internet traffic.

Our Team

Zscaler was founded by Jay Chaudhry, a security industry veteran who has founded and funded several successful companies, and K. Kailash, scalability guru and former chief architect of NetScaler. With a focus on innovation, Zscaler’s team includes some of the top talent in the industry, including hand-picked developers and executives from security and networking companies including Cisco, Juniper, SPI Dynamics, VeriSign and Wipro.

What We Do

Zscaler provides an integrated, best-of-breed, and comprehensive functionality. The intuitive user interface allows organizations to create common, granular policies. The four areas of functionality are:

Secure — In addition to signature-based anti-virus and anti-spyware, Zscaler offers protection against advanced threats such as bots, malicious content, phishing and peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.
Manage — In addition to offering standard URL filtering, Zscaler empowers organizations to provide managed access to Web 2.0 applications—such as social networking, blogging, streaming, Webmail, and IM.
Comply — Zscaler detects and protects against data leakage through the HTTP/HTTPS channel (including Webmail, IM, file uploads) to enable regulatory compliance and secure company-sensitive information.
Analyze — Massive amounts of storage are required to retain Web logs from outbound Internet traffic. Using patent-pending NanoLogTM technology, Zscaler has reduced storage requirements and enables rapid log analysis and forensics capabilities.
